Websites perform two main functions: providing information to users and collecting information from users. Information can be collected by providing an email address and asking users to write you. This approach has the advantage of being simple and understood by all users. However, an email contains only the information that occurs to the sender when writing it.
A second approach is to provide a form for users to complete. A form provides boxes for all the information you would like to receive and, even if not all the boxes are completed, you are likely to receive more information than in a typical email.
